Our story...
Our church had its beginning as a mission church of First Baptist Church Amarillo and in 1917, First Baptist Church Bushland was established. In February 2008, the church - a group of about 21 people at the time - hired Pastor Jeff Ponder as senior pastor. Pastor Jeff has always known he was called to pastor a church that emulates the first church described in the book of Acts. He began building a foundation in faith that transformed us from the small rural church we once were to the strong, vibrant church we are today. With time and God adding to our numbers, we have become The Church at Bushland that you see today impacting our Bushland community and beyond.
From the beginning, The Church at Bushland has focused on reaching those who do not know God personally and building relationships through Life Groups. The life-giving message of the Gospel, the passion and joy of Sunday services, and the simple style of TCAB continues to generate growth. From there, each of us is encouraged to take the Gospel and what we have learned to our circles of influence and beyond.

“The Church” that is described in the New Testament and worthy of His return. We invite you to see for yourself how exciting church can be when the focus is simple, and people are free to seek God with passion.
